Assuming you are replacing an existing DW, the only thing you're going to probably need is an adapter with a 3/8" compression inlet and a 3/4" Female Garden Hose (threaded), Sounds goofy. And it is. But almost every hardware carries it nowdays and it costs like $5. It does make the DW easier to hook up. Older DWs were serviced by 3/8" compression ended water lines (doesn't matter what the water line was-copper, braided steel, CPVC), and this fitting mates to the "old" plumbing and then mates to the DW with basically a female garden hose end. If you're doing a "new" install or removing all the old stuff back to the appliance shutoff valve, there's a great kit made by Proline Plumbing or by Watts at the big box stores for $20. They include about 10' of new steel-braided supply hose, the 3/8"x3/4" FGHT adapter, and 1/2"x3/8" adapter for goofy pipe ends (not on the DW side).
