Probably a poor install. I don't have any of the insulation on mine, and it is not in a cabinet space. It's open air in a close on concrete. Unless I'm in the closet, I can't hear mine. Stick it under a counter on a thin floor w/o the insulation, and it could cause reverberations in the cabinets and floor. One way to fix it is to put a thin sheet of house insulation foam board under it. That's an easy job but unless you're a DIYer, you might want to call the installer back out.

This dishwasher has a dBA level of 50, which falls between libraries and moderate rainfall when it comes to noise. However, it’s possible for your unit to be louder once installed. Things such as the installation location, cabinetry, flooring, countertop, and the number of dishes in the unit can change the level of sound it makes.
