“I own this model. It was replaced a week after I bought it due to sudden rattling noise every 50 minutes. The new one soon started making same noise. I’ve had a GE repairman come check on it twice, but the problem persists. I’m at a loss.”

• I believe it is your ice maker There is a switch upper left corner in the freezer.. Turn to off I believe you have it on and no water supply to fridge..?

• Thank you for the answers here. After 3 months and 3 visits, GE's repairman disconnected my ice maker (it was off the whole time) and the noise finally stopped. So I think this fridge's ice maker had - still has - a faulty switch and it won't stay off unless totally disconnected.

• The rattling never stops, only gets worse and louder. I have had the repairman look at it several times only to be told that it is normal.?? I believe after 3 years of this I need to shop for another refrigerator because, it sounds like it will conk out anytime a soon.
