Newer washers will sound different from your previous model. You will hear clicks, water flowing, gear sounds followed by pauses, and electric hum sounds are all part of the normal wash cycle. We have a list of normal sounds on page 20 in the manual. There is a QR code to click on to hear the sounds. This is a really nice model, and it has a little more than a 4 out of 5 Star rating on our GE Appliances site.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The machine can be loud at times during some wash cycles but is not consistently loud throughout. Its not loud enough for me NOT to recommend the washer/dryer. Sometimes when it does get unbalanced it can rock and make loud banging sounds and you need to open it up and rebalance the load inside. This is not a frequent occurence and again wouldnt make me NOT recommend it. Overall its a solid washer/dryer and overall Im happy with the purchase.
