“I just had this unit installed. When the washer is in the wash cycle, the agitator moves a little bit forward, pauses, moves forward, pauses, moves forward, etc...….and seems slow. It does not agitate back and forth. Is it supposed to work this way?”

Ours does the same thing so I think it is supposed to work that way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine does the same; I assumed it was the water fill auto-sensor testing out the size of the load. Checking on the manufacturer’s website, that’s exactly the case.

If you set the Precise Fill option, the basket will then spin up and coast down several times to sense the load. During agitation, the agitator rotates in two directions. This makes an electric pulsing, grinding, or buzzing noise. The agitation is slow and provides a gentle wash action to protect your clothes. To ensure it is not overloaded, load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket.
