“I'm wondering if any one of you thinks that the grates are too far away from the burners?”

Hi Laura- Thanks for viewing! The height of the grates are designed to provide optimal heating while also maintaining burner efficiency and safety. This cooktop is equipped with a 15,000 BTU Power Boil burner (Left Front) that delivers high heat for fast boiling and a 5,000 BTU Precise Simmer Burner (Left Rear) so delicate items don't burn with low, even heat. Not at all.... Works great and does the job. I had the previous model to this one that came in the house when we bought it. Lasted 12 years and only replaced because the ignitor stopped working. This new one has nicer knobs and the grate is a different design, but same spacing as the old one. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Hope this helps....
