A:AnswerHi Robert- Thanks for choosing GE! The water levels cannot be increased. Since frontload washers do not require the tub to fill with water, significantly less water is required to thoroughly wash and rinse each load. Except for certain cycles like Delicates/Handwash and Tub Clean that use more water, you will not see a visible water line on the door glass. For reference, see page 20 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90542-2.pdf - Front load washers are known for their energy efficiency and convenient features. Unlike the top loader, the front loader's wash basket is set horizontally, and uses gravity to pull water through clothes. And because the basket never has to fill completely with water you end up using only a third of the water a top loader uses, but your clothes get just as clean. You also use less detergent, which means more money savings and fewer chemicals. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA

A:AnswerHi Jen- Front-load washers have the hinge on the left side of the door and open to the left only. They do not have reversible doors because of the electronics involved with the door lock mechanism. A:AnswerHi Alma- While it is possible for an odor to occur over time, we suggest to check the gasket regularly. Using both hands, press down the door gasket. Remove any foreign objects if found trapped inside the gasket. Make sure there is nothing blocking the holes behind the gasket so water can drain. To clean the interior of the washer, select the Tub Clean feature on the control panel. This Tub Clean cycle should be performed, at a minimum, once per month. This cycle will use more water, in addition to bleach, to control the rate at which soils and detergents may accumulate in your washer. For complete details, see page 12 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90542-2.pdf - Check out the matching GE® 7.5 cu. ft. capacity Front Load electric dryer with steam GFD45ESPKDG (Gas GFD45GSPKDG). A:AnswerHi Mary- Washer GFW450SPKDG and Dryer GFD45ESPKDG are manufactured globally. GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself.
