Hello Laundryqueen - We are flattered to hear from royalty and are happy to serve you in anyway possible. HE detergent is recommended for use in all our washers but not mandatory. If using a non-HE detergent or any other type of detergent (including all-natural products), make sure that it is made of non-flammable ingredients. Stay safe and keep in touch! - John@GEA
