I read the manual and it says to add fabric softener along with the detergent and and choose "deep rinse" option. I was skeptical at first but it does a good job. Hope this helps you.

Can you use a "softener" ball to dispense liquid softener? Still not convinced about adding both at the beginning of cycle...

Hey there, this is an excellent question and we'll be pleased to assist you. We're sorry to say there is no indicator telling you when to add fabric softener. To add it, you will need to add detergent and liquid fabric softener to the bottom of the tub before adding your items into the tub. We hope this helps and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
