• Just measured my stove - looks like the top (upon which the black pieces sit) comes to approximately 36.5". Puts it just about even with our countertops.

• Yes, it does include the backsplash. The height from the floor to the top of the cooking surface is approximately 36 1/4" (+/- 1/4"). -Vikki@GEAppliances
