Hi Senior - The distance from the back of the range to the front of the backsplash with out the knobs is 2 ¼” at the left and right side and 2 ½” at the center of the backsplash (the top of the backsplash tapered at the ends). The distance from the back of the range to the front of the backsplash with knobs is 4 ½”. We hope this is helpful! Sue
