A:AnswerHi MicroRv, I am happy to hep. Model PEM31SFSS will fit in the same space as your current model if you are building it into the space. You cannot use the current trim kit, JX827BN. You will want to purchase optional trim kit
JX827SFSS (stainless) or JX827BFBB (black). I hope this helps. Thank you for checking with us.

A:AnswerHello Jman. This is Lida with GE Appliances. The PEM31SFSS is a good replacement for the PEM31SMSS. They share the same cut-out requirements, so the new model will fit into the existing space. You will, however, need to replace the old trim kit with the one specified for the new PEM31SFSSS. These built-in kits are model specific because of how they attach to the microwave itself and must be replaced. I hope this helps!
A:AnswerHello JT99 - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. Yes, the PEM31SFSS is the replacement for the PEM31SMSS. While the cutout requirement is the same, the trim kits are not interchangeable so you will need to purchase a new trim kit. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

A:AnswerHi Walter- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We certainly appreciate your loyalty! PEM31EFES is a comparable model. The Approximate Dimensions are (HxWxD) 12 1/8 in x 24 in x 12 7/8 in. If the microwave is installed in a cabinet, you will also need to purchase OPTIONAL 27" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX827EFES or OPTIONAL 30" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX830EFES. We encourage you to view the Installation Instructions for complete cutout and clearance requirements: https://www.myapstore.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40698-1.pdf - Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. We're sorry to hear that your microwave needs replacing. The replacement for the PEM31SMSS would be the PEM31SFSS. Unfortunately, the built-in trim kits are not interchangeable. The trim kit that is approved with this new model is the JX827SFSS for the 27" trim kit or the JX830SFSS for the 30" trim kit. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

A:AnswerHello Birdie - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. We're sorry to hear that your current microwave requires replacement and hope you received many years of service from it. The JEM31WF01 should be replaced by the PEM31. It is slightly larger than your current model so the new trim kit would need to be purchased. The good news is that both trim kits required similar cabinet cutout dimensions. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. There would be a microwave trim kit overlap of 1" for the 27" trim kits and an overlap of 2-1/2" if you install the 30" trim kit. The minimum depth with the receptacle outside the cutout is 16" and the minimum depth needed with the receptacle inside the cutout is 18". We do not recommend deviating from the installation instructions. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Newer countertop microwaves (with turntables) have approximately a 39" power cord. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello Bob,

A:AnswerHello,
This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to help.
For this microwave model PEM31SFSS, the vent openings are located on the back, on the bottom, and on the left side as you face the microwave.
Thank you for checking.

A:AnswerHello. Thanks for your interest in a new GE microwave! We are happy to help with a replacement recommendation. Model PEB9159SJSS is a great replacement option. The trim kit will also need to be replaced. The trim kit options for this model are: JX9152SJSS and JX9153SJSS. We hope this helps, and should you have any additional questions, please reach out to us!- Kianna@GEA
A:AnswerHi there - Thanks for the question, we're happy to help! The 12-7/8" depth on this microwave does not include the handle and excludes the receptacle plug, which will add 1/2"- 3/4". We hope this helps! - Sharon@GEA
A:AnswerHey thee, thank you for reaching out to us. We're sorry to hear your microwave didn't fit your space. We know how disappointing this must've been and we're happy to help. Although the trim kit is 16-1/2" tall, your microwave requires a cutout height of at most 15-1/8", therefore you'll need to make adjustments to your space in order for this microwave to fit. We apologize if this is an inconvenience and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHello,
Good question! We appreciate you reaching out to us and we'd be happy to help. We do not recommend using the same trim kit for a new model. We suggest ZEB1227SLSS as a replacement for your current microwave oven. This does have built-in capability and uses trim kit ZX2130SLSS, if you're filling a 30" Wide cavity or ZX2127SLSS for a 27" Wide cavity. We hope this information helps. Good luck!
