“Can the surface light - the light underneath, be programmed to turn on/off at a certain time....like on at 6am and off at 6pm?”

Hello, Great question! We thank you for your interest and we'd be happy to help. We found that the surface light cannot be programmed to turn on by itself. You can turn the dial to select the period of time the light / fan will remain on until the microwave automatically turns it off.
