Hi Nana- All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. Approximate Product Dimensions- JVM290WV001: 30"W x 15 1/2H x 14 1/4"D. Approximate Product Dimensions- PVM9005SJSS: 29 15/16"W x 17 5/16"H x 16 5/32"D. The new one is 30" wide. My old one was 36" wide. I didn't know it until I got it home. GE said it would fit. **Measure your old one to see how wide it is.** Worst case, you'll have a gap on each side to deal with. The GE filler panels are 1/2 the cost of the microwave. Not worth it.

If your current microwave is a 30" model this GE microwave will fit. I used trim panels because I replaced a 36" inch model with the GE Profile; worked like a charm.

Why in the above description it states the height of the PVM9005SJSS as 17 5/16", but in the specification it states the height is 16.125".
Which is the correct height?
