“From the discussions below it sounds like both the "slate" color and the "black stainless" color are magnetized and will hold magnets. Is the same true for the actual stainless steel finish?”

Hello Lee46, I am happy to help. Many of our new stainless steel refrigerators will hold a magnet. You can try testing it with a magnet while you are shopping. This particular model should hold a magnet. I hope this helps. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.
