I would first make sure if you are indeed using a suitable vessel appropriate for use, meant for induction cooktops. In case you were not aware, non magnetizable metals vessel bottoms don't work with this type of cooktops. If this indeed a correct metal type that was tested with a small piece of magnet, then I would call GE appliance customer support to proceed further either for repair or diagnose the problem.
