The knobs are plastic and the silver wears off with only a few uses.

They are not heat resistant as 3 of my knobs have melted when a hot item is placed on them.

These front control knobs have a Stainless Steel appearance to match the cooktop and are made of a weighted electro-plated plastic so that they have the feel of metal knobs without any heat issues!
