A:AnswerThis range doesn't have an internal camera to view cooking foods. The glass on the door is too dark even with the light on, so outside of a temp probe for cooking, I definitely open the door if necessary. The oven seems to heat back up fairly quickly.
A:AnswerDuring the self-clean cycle, the oven reaches a very high temperature during which the food soils decompose and burns to ash. Once the oven has cooled down completely, you'll then use a damp cloth to wipe the ash from the oven cavity.
A:AnswerYes, this range is equipped with guided cooking from Hestan Cue to help streamline your cooking with a system that combines video-guided recipes from chefs with automatic time, temperature and cooking pace adjustments. To learn more, see the Precision Cooking with Precision Probe or Hestan Cue Cookware section on page 10 of the Owner’s Manual (which can be viewed on the PHS930YPFS product page of our GE Appliances website).
A:AnswerOh my. We certainly don't want you to continue having uneven crisping in your oven. We do recommend that you try the troubleshooting tips on page 30 of the use and care manual located on the product page. If these tips do not help, please schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737.
A:AnswerHello there - We appreciate you reaching out to us! We're happy to help. This model does have vents on the door. These vents can actually be view on the second picture on the product page. We hope this helps and we're here if you have additional questions. All our best. -Kacie@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHi - Thanks for reaching out to us. If the glass cooktop is inadvertently broken or damaged it can be replaced by one of our authorized service locations. That said, we have no way of knowing what parts will still be available in the future. It really depends on how old the unit is as to how likely a part as essential as the glass cooktop will be available. We hope you choose this lovely range for your home. All our best! Vikki@GEAppliances
A:AnswerCorrect. The oven is “normal.” The cooktop is also fantastic! Way more useful than most think. (and the cooktop uses LESS power than a traditional electric cooktop … for those who care)
A:AnswerThere is a 1/2" gap behind the oven exhaust vent (the ridge at the rear in the photos). The exhasut vent is just that an EXHAUST (not intake) vent that automatically turns on when the oven is on (or still warm after use). It is 100% self managing (you cannot just force it on/off). The vent is VERY quiet.
I expect (but don’t know) that the 1/2" gap is specifically there to support what you’re thinking. The range does not have any INTAKE “hood” functionality built in (aside from integrating with other GE products to “talk” which can turn them on).
A:AnswerMy delivery drivers called me and were wondering the same thing, as they weren’t certified to install gas stoves. Near as I can figure, both the gas line and electrical cord are part of one “stove installation package” in Best Buy’s inventory and ordering system. My guess is bundling them like that makes life easier for someone somewhere in middle management.
A:AnswerHello- We appreciate your interesting question and are happy to help. If the bottom of the pan is hotter than 100 degrees celsius (the boiling point of water), the water touching the pan will start turning into steam, which is a gas and looks like bubbles. When the bubbles become big enough to float up against the pressure/weight of the water then they rise to the surface. Sometimes you will see little bubbles forming when the temperature is not that hot. That is regular air (nitrogen and oxygen) that was dissolved in the water. When the temperature goes up, is forces the air out of the water and you see it as bubbles. You can boil 5 cups of water in less than 3 minutes! This is a beautiful range and we hope you are pleased with it.
