Does the side tank add to the described width of the machine(16 inches or so). I'd love it to fit into a specific place under the bar.. null

The overall width with the side tank water reservoir included is 13 1/2 inches. The 16 inch dimension is the front to back (depth) dimension of the unit. Note that the front drip tray and clearance for hoses at the rear will total up to 21 inches. The vertical height is 16 1/2 inches. Hope that helps. We truly enjoy and use ours!

Yes it does add but not much at all. The side tank sits very close to the machine. It adds about 6 inches is all to the width. The tank is slim. You can also pick which side you want the tank on. It will go on either the right or left side of the ice maker.
