“I understand HOW to set the timer on my GE oven, but the directions do not work! I touch Timer On/Off, set the time - hours and minutes, touch Start on upper or lower oven and either the countdown does not start or I get an ERR. What's wrong?”

Great answer. The countdown aspect should be included in the timer instructions in the user manual.

We are happy to help. 1.Press Timer On/Off; 0:00 shows on the display. 2.Enter the time in hours and/or minutes according to your Owner's Manual. Ex. For 5 minutes, press 005 and Start. For 1 hour, press 100 and Start. 3.Press Start to start the Timer. This is an hour and minute timer, so the time only changes every minute. It will not immediately start counting down unless you set the Timer for 1 minute. The Timer will count down seconds when there is 1 minute remaining. It will then count down 59, 58, 57, and so on.
