QuestionWhy does steam accumulate between the glass in the door when cooking. on my cooktop below. . I have the fan on high. To exhaust outside. It’s advantium 240 just purchased. Used 1 week now.

- Answer Hello Hmam - Congratulations on the new microwave! There are air vents in the door that allows air to flow between the panes of the window in the door. Air passage through the door helps keep the door cool to the touch during operation. This can allow steam from the cooktop below to get in and is normal. Keeping the exhaust fan on will help reduce this. However, if you notice a large accumulation, allow the microwave door to stand open for about15 minutes to accelerate the dissipation of the moisture. Keep in touch! - John@GEA

It is designed for adaptation to the following three types of ventilation to suit your installation needs: 1. Outside Exhaust (Vertical – Delivered from factory in vertical position). 2. Outside Exhaust (Horizontal). 3. Recirculating (Non-vented ductless). QuestionHow much power does the unit actually draw? Surely not 30 amps. If convection cooking is the highest draw and the fan was on high for the stove fan, what would the draw be?

QuestionCould you explain the difference between the 120v and 240v for. consumer use. Pro vs con. I just purchased my 3rd 240, not delivered yet. Was wondering what the practical differences are.

- Answer Hello, thank you for your question and congratulations on your new Advantium purchase! There are several differences between 120v and 240v. For example, 240v is 4x-8x faster than conventional cooking, can have multiple heat functions on at once: microwave, fan, upper heat, lower heat, interior lights, etc., and no preheat necessary, except with convection cooking. 120v is 2x-4x faster than conventional cooking, heat functions cycle one at a time: microwave, fan, upper heat, lower heat, lights, etc., and has a separate light for the interior light; light stays on. While 240v offers many advantages, it is not approved for under-counter installation whereas 120v is approved for under-counter installation. We hope this helps! - Answer Hello Lee - Thank you for reaching out about this amazing microwave. We would love to share more about it. This model can be installed above an island, assuming there are cabinets above it to attach it to and an electrical outlet within reach. The installation dimensions for all GEA 30" over-the-range microwave ovens are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. This makes it simple to install a new microwave or replace a current GEA over-the-range microwave oven. - JB

QuestionIs this unit compatible with installation of an earlier model PSA1201 RSS01? Will I need to put in new mounting supports or will this unit hook on to the existing rail and use the same screw holes. I am interested in the 120 V unit. Thanks.

- Answer Hello Jerry - This model (PSA9240SFSS) is 240 volt, your old model is 120 volt. If you choose to replace your old model with this 240 volt unit, you will need to have your electrical connections configured to accommodate this new unit. The new unit will fit well into your existing space, however you will need to use the new mounting hardware that comes with it, the old mounting hardware should be removed. -Trey@GEA

- Answer Hi Ann, thanks for reaching out! We found some information related to cleaning a stainless steel microwave interior. Most spills and splatters in the microwave clean up easily with a damp, soapy cloth or sponge. It is best to clean soil as soon as it appears. Consult your Owner's Manual for information about cleaning your microwave. For cleaning the interior: Some spatters can be removed with a paper towel; others may require a warm soapy cloth. Remove greasy spatters with a sudsy cloth, then rinse with a damp cloth. Use only mild, non-abrasive soaps or detergents applied with a sponge, or soft cloth. You can use a plastic, soap-filled scouring pad or sponge for heavy soils. There is an article on our website titled "MICROWAVE STAINLESS INTERIOR CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONS" that offers more cleaning tips that may help! We hope that this helps! Happy cooking. -Michael

QuestionCan you install this microwave under an upper cabinet but not over a range? The built in models open down and not with a swing door like this one that we love so we are looking for an alternative.

It can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. Over- the- range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to.
