“The whirlpool heat pump dryer had an issue with lint build up. When lint built up in the heat pumps evaporator coil the help stopped. cleaning was not really designed for. Bricking the unit. Since this is a new unit How is such a flaw avoided?”

Try rinsing the screen filter and the foam filter more often with water. I purchased a skinny cylindrical telescoping brush that is meant for cleaning lint from a dryer at a home improvement store to remove lint from the fins. Be VERY careful to not bend any of the fins. Bent fins will damage the coil causing the evaporative coil to not function properly; which will affect the machine’s ability to dry.

The lint filer should be cleaned every 5th cycle, and the unit will remind you to clean it. There is also a foam filter that should be cleaned every 50th cycle or when the Combo reminds you.
