Pounds is no longer used as a rating system for washer capacity. There was no industry standard that would allow exact comparisons. A washer is not limited in practical terms by the pounds or weight of clothes it can wash. It is limited by the volume of clothes that can be put into the machine. To determine the proper amount of clothing that the washer can handle, the clothes should fit below the balance ring of the washer tub and not be stuffed too tightly. I hope this helps!
