“Can you damage the washer by installing these? Someone claimed that laying the washer on its side will cause damage to the board etc. said these should only be installed when the washer has not been used yet because of water damage etc.”

Geek squad installed mine now it’s flooded my laundry room twice in 3 days. Take your chances, you can’t do any worse than Best Buy/Geek Squad.

We don't recommend laying the washer on its side. It is best to lay the washer on its back on a protective surface and be sure the leveling legs are threaded in to minimum height position. It is also fine to install the riser after you've used the washer.
