• You cast apps from your phone. Say you want to cast Netflix... You download Netflix on your phone and you cast the app. Many apps are adding functionality for Chromecast every day.

• No. If you want that, you need to get an Android box. Chromecast only works with apps that support it (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) It will also "Mirror" Google Chrome from a laptop, but not a tablet or phone.

• You have to use your device to access the Google store. The chromecast only works with apps that connect to it. You use your device to download the apps you want to use on the chromecast. When you open the app on your device it will give you the option to stream it on your chromecast.
