You will need a convertor box. The one I got is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I482L2K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1# Make sure you get one with the THREE Composite ports. Do NOT get the component ports. This will allow you to plug in through your VCR, DVD player, or just right into the TV. It works great and I have not had a problem with mine using it with my Googlechromecast. I've been using it for about 2 months now with no problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The USB ports on your DVD player are probably to plug in a USB memory stick or other external hard drive type device for playing back files/photos. While USB looks similar to HDMI, they are unfortunately quite different and not interchangeable. This device requires 1 HDMI port to be used for it's video output (input on the TV), but the USB port is optional as it is only used for power which instead be supplied with the included power adapter and (if I remember correctly) Micro USB cable. I suppose that you could get a "HDMI to Composite" converter, but they are quite pricy (about $100) and in my opinion not worth the investment. Sorry, but you would probably best be served by saving for a basic HD TV with HDMI ports already built in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Chromecast plugs into your device through an HDMI port. You don't have to have a USB port to power it, it comes with a wall adapter. I believe that your DVD player would have to have a HDMI port to be able to pass the feed through your DVD player into the TV. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll need to feed the Chromecast's audio & video output into an HDMI input connector, either on the TV or on an intermediate device like an A/V receiver. Chromecast also has a USB connector but that's ONLY to provide power. You can connect that to any available USB connector (e.g. on your DVD player) or just use the USB power module that comes with the Chromecast. Are you sure those connectors on your DVD player are USB connectors?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The chromecast is an HDMI device, not USB. It uses USB for charging, not output. You may be able to try an HDMI to USB adapter and plug the Chromecast into the HDMI side of the adapter and plug the USB side of the adapter into your DVD player, but I don't have experience using those adapters to know for certain if or how well that would work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need a TV with HDMI connector. The USB is just for power. You do not need USB, but you must have HDMI input on the TV. It comes with a wall charger to power the Chromecast device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The chrome cast requires a HDMI plug to work on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The USB is for charge, but is not required, you can connect it direclty to a power outlet; what it is required is the HDMI port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to have HDMI to use the Chromecast, it is the only input. The USB is just for power.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This actually connects using HDMI not USB. The need for USB only comes into play if you have an older TV that has HDMI ports that do not produce power for the Chromecast to use. So if you do have the older HDMI ports on your TV then yes you could use the USB port from your DVD player to power the Chromecast but you may have to have the DVD player player on in order to use it.
