They would be classified as two different devices. But that is a possibility. Charging is fast and infrequent. Seems like a waste in my opinion.

Hi, Joni! Absolutely, you can purchase additional Nest Doorbell (battery) and add it to the Home app. You can add a maximum of 10 per home (video quality depends on your internet bandwidth).
