None of the Nest cameras support a wired connection for video. The older one supports a USB power connection, while this one supports a flexible connector that permits power from a line adapter (USB) or a solar panel.

Wasserstein (a third party company) make a PoE adapter for about $30, but it's only going to be for power. You'll still use WiFi for the data connection.

Thanks for the inquiry. The Nest Cam (Battery) does not have an Ethernet port, so it cannot be powered through an Ethernet cable. The camera is powered by its built-in rechargeable battery or the optional wired power adapter.
