I would get a signal booster and password protect it along with the rest of your network.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think an easy test would be to take your phone out there and see how many bars you get on your home WiFi. If you have strong signal on your phone, you should be fine. If you have one bar or no bars, it likely would not work. Also remember the NestCam is not rated for outdoor use, so you'd need an outdoor housing from a company like DropCases or you'd need a well covered area in order to use one of these outside.
