Can this camera be routed to a NAS hard drive instead of the Cloud? I am not interest in paying for cloud storage. I currently have a ip camera using the SD card and also a 1TB NAS drive in a secure location. I am trying to upgrade video quality with a new camera.

Wish that were the case - but it would appear that revenue is tied to the subscription cloud recording. As I have two location supported by the cameras, I would be happy frankly with an account cloud commitment, in essence, first camera at full price and each subsequent device at the reduced rate. But with a restriction being by location, I am paying for two first cameras and two subsequent cameras by location: 150 per site or 300 versus 250. I would invest in additional cameras if they changed the plan.

It might be possible, but there is no turnkey software for this camera. (Several other HD netcams have easy local or NAS storage setup).

No. You can not route the feed to your phone, or other storage device. If you don't pay for the cloud recording storage, you only get a live feed.

If a burglar finds and steals your camera and storage device, you effectively have no video evidence. So cloud storage isn't bad if you think about it. Altough having video of me running around my house shirtless, or worse, in the cloud can be troubling at first, you can program the camera to turn off when you get home or turn it off manually from the app on your phone.
