So you should read my answer to an above post. I have one of these outside under my front porch on a post on top of the steps. I got my camera 5 years ago but have only had it up outside for a year due to vandalism problems. My uncle has all of his wired cameras outside for 5 years. On the box my camera was in nothing specified it can not be used outdoors or that it can only be used indoors. I do plan on getting a case for mine and any others i put outside. Lori
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use a nest battery cam that I leave plugged in. If power goes out it will still work
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You might want to check for the new Nest Cam (battery) which is designed with versatility in mind. It’s an outdoor/indoor battery powered device out of the box, and can also be used with a set of various power accessories including two weatherproof cables with power adapter. You can connect your camera to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter to keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).
