“What is the maximum operating distance between camera and router? I'm looking to have these located over 500' from my house and 150' from a barn arena. Are the recordings done over a WiFi network? I have power and phones located at the barn.”

Yes everything is don’t through WiFi. I really like the cameras but we did have to set up an extender to reach the second floor in the opposite corner of our house from where our WiFi router is located approximately 75’.

If your camera is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points. Nest cameras can connect to your Wi-Fi on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidths, but 5GHz bandwidth has a smaller coverage compared to 2.4GHz.
