The hub is made to sit on a shelf. I suppose that you could mount a shelf on the door and hope someone doesn't slam the door and knock it off, but I wouldn't recommend it. In my house, we have them sitting on a nightstand by my bed and on my desk, near the computer in my office. I'm almost always near a hub. The times that I'm not near the hub, I use the Nest app to monitor it on my phone.
