Ecen if you have a chime, it has its own too which you can shut off and Also program to not make your ring either. 2. If your Chinese aren't working that's ok. It does not require a chime just the 16v that would be sent via the transformer to operate it. A 10va may not be sufficient. If your house was wired after 1975 you are probably good to go. If not check out the online video about seeing if yours is compatible.. it will show you what to look for on your bell before you order. 3. The button has its own ringer too, but as mention in 1 it can be programmed off or even longer. My existing chime plays music, so I had to program it to send the chime code for 15 seconds to get the entire westminusters to play instead if the first two notes. Simple point... things company took almost every situation into account when designing the product. Much better that the competition that everyone raved about which us it take it or leave it style.
