Q: Questionwe have 5 total thermostats throughout the house (3 of which are kids’ rooms). Can I buy 1 nest learning thermostat and replace the 3 kids room thermostats with the sensors as I don’t want them controlling the heat? Or do the sensors not replace thermo?

• A:Answer No. either you have multiple separate HVAC units each requiring their own units or you have split zone, which still require their own units. Nest sensors are more like setting up mini zones inside your already designated zone for a single unit. Example, Zone 1 in a living room and two bedrooms. The sensors would help prioritizing the temperatures in a room over the others on a schedule, like overnight. This cannot help with actual HVAC zones wired to their own thermostat.

Q: QuestionWhy does the eco mode come on all by itself.

• A:Answer The eco mode can turn on both manually and automatically if you have the temperatures set to the eco zones (temps) when you set them up using the schedule. You know you are in the eco mode when you see the green leaf on the app/thermostat. I recommend playing around with your thermostat on the app or online at the the NEST website. It's very easy to figure out.

Q: QuestionWhy does my battery seem to die so often? Does the wall base supposed to charge it? Because I have to take it off twice a day to put it on a usb cable to charge it.

• A:Answer Do you have a common power wire from your hvac unit? The thermostat requires constant electrical power the battery inside unit is for memory etc. If you do not have power supply in the wires, I suggest you install a transformer somewhere accessible and run power to the thermostat. • A:Answer No..just leave it plugged in overnight the more you play with it it drains battery real fast it's only a 3.68 volt battery you can see that setting in the settings

• A:Answer I don't know if it does but you can't " lock it" anyways. To override the temp you simply turn the Dial. So you can't set it and lock it but what you can do is Jack up the rent!

However, Nest thermostats can operate between 35° F - 105° F and Nest thermostats have the feature Emergency Temperature that can be set to 35° F as the lowest and every time temperatures drop to 35° F, Nest Learning Thermostat will kick in to start heating. So if your Nest thermostat is disconnected, it won't be able to send any notifications. But when you go onto Nest app, you will see that it is offline for how long.
