QuestionWhen the thermostat reaches set temp of 75 … The screen goes from Blue to grey and turns off. So than it starts to get a little hot. What do I need to change so that it stays blue?

- Answer Hi, grab the edge and push in a little then go into your options and and see if you are interested in the automatic energy saving options that are available for you. (eg. sounds like the eco setting (Green leaf) may be set by default. If not then you may go into the schedule and clear it all out then you set it to what you want when you want it at the time you want it either manually or by the scheduler. but if you need immediate comfort when it turns gray take hold of the rim or edge and turn it to the left to your ideal temp for your home. Now I will you this, say you choose let's say 70 for your ideal temp, it will run until it gets the house to 69 and will not turn your air back on until temp reaches 71 hope this helps. If not at your leisure sign in to Nest on your pad, computer where you can SIT and read and maybe get the gest of it. After you learn and work thru the quirks of it learning you and you learning it, it is actually a money saver. Be patient it will PAY OFF.

QuestionI heard The nest will work great for a while but then goes off line. We want to put it in a house we will not be in at times for months. Will it be problem if we aren't in the home? Or if power goes out for a while does it have to be reset?

- Answer No, you can adjust things through the app on your phone and when we had a power outage it just comes back on once power is restored and continues with the same settings as before.

QuestionI have gas heat and electric AC they both run off the same thermostat now will it still work? Also i like to keep my house at 70 degrees all year round,will it switch between heat or AC even when i am not home depending on the temperature of the outside?

- Answer As long as you're both listed as users in the app, each phone will work independent of each other. Make sure both phones are set to allow Nest to use the phones location all the time (not just when using the app).

Questionhow long do these normally last because i have had a technician out and and replaced it 3 times now with different companies and after talking to you guys these things aren't cheap so I'm asking because I don't want to make this a money pit issue?

- Answer I know you can set the Fan run a few times. I haven’t played with that much. All I know is because of the application on your phone you can do many things.

- Answer No fee is charged, upfront, or monthly. Unless you pay someone to install it for you, then that is a different point altogether, but if one is capable of reading and following instructions, one should be able to install it oneself. I would suggest checking the current thermostat brand and wiring disposition with the webpage to assure compatibility of the device before actually purchasing. Cheers!

- Answer well you need all the wires to connect to a thermostat. If you can connect them all to one it might work, but it might not. There's no way to put two wires to 1 service, so you'd have to twist it around the other wire. That'd make putting the thermostat onto its housing difficult. Also if the wires aren't running out of the same hole in your wall that'd be a problem too.
