“Thinking of using the device at a second home that we may be away from for several weeks at the time. What does the unit default to in terms of temp control if the power goes out and WiFi connection is interrupted until we get back to reboot the router?”

It has a minimum temp setting to avoid freezing pipes regardless of WiFi connection and loss of power I have mine set to 50 degrees which happens to be the default

Please try again later.it will still work like a normal thermostat, just setup the min\max temp you want and you can leave it you will save energy and you can control it from the other house when you need to, best believe it you wont find better thermostat this is the best one, you can even see the days you used more energy and why...
