QuestionIf my router goes down, does NEST just keep the same temperature for the furnace? The furnace doesn't shut off, does it?

- Answer I haven't tested this but if router goes down, it should not affect furnace. You just won't be able to control the thermostat remotely.

QuestionI have recently purchased Nest 3rd gen thermostat (BLACK) after setting it up I noticed the menu where is shows setting, history. schedule n all is in black n white. I have seen a lot of videos on youtube and I see them all in color.

QuestionWill it alert me while I am out if someone in the house changed (manually changed) the temperature on the thermostat? If so, can I then go in and change the temp back to what I want it to be from my iPhone?

- Answer You won't get an alert if someone changes the setting manually while you're away. However, you can control with your iPhone when away from home. You can also set it automatically to Eco mode when you leave home, based on the location of your iPhone.

- Answer Yes however if you only have a two wire system you will need to add a transformer to keep the internal battery charged

QuestionMy current thermostat controls my whole house humidifier as well as the heat and A/C. I can switch the humidifier on/off and it lets me know when I need a new pad installing. Will the nest one be able to do the same. Thanks

- Answer Yes, you can even have it set to schedule the fan to run for a certain duration to cycle the air throughout your home. I think that’s better than have the fan constantly on, reduces electric bill. You can also have it set for the fan to kick on if the humidity inside your house gets too high.

QuestionI have a nest and whenever I switch from Eco to Heat settings, my AC turns on as well as the furnace. The air coming out of the vents isn’t warm despite the furnace running. Why is the AC turning on? This never happened with my other thermostats.

- Answer Dawn, Sounds like something isn't wired right. I would reach out to Nest and they can assist you. Their support in troubleshooting a software issue with my original thermostat took a bit but they knew what they were doing.
