- Answer YES!!! I don't have a C wire and I was worried about this too. But it just steals a trickle of power from the HVAC line which keeps it going just fine. You don't need a C wire or a pricey electrician.

QuestionOur Nest Thermostst is upstairs however we spend all our daytime on the lower level. The nest continually switches to Eco. Is there a way to prevent this or is there a blue tooth device to recognize movement on a level different from the Nest level?

- Answer Add a sensor not a thermostat, also one tenth of the price. Then on the app you can see the temperature on both levels and adjust the registers so that you get an even heat across your home. Or set the app to choose which room is in charge of the temperature at what times of the day.

- Answer It will work if you don’t have WiFi, but it was kind of be pointless as the energy reports are generated through the app which uses WiFi. And yes, propane heat was an option during set-up

- Answer The Nest Temperature sensors do not work with the 1st and 2nd gen Nest Learning Thermostats because they were not designed with bluetooth built in. The base of the 3rd generation Nest is different than the older generations, so you would need to take a photo of the current wiring so you can wire up the new Nest if you choose to purchase one.

- Answer I haven't tested this but if router goes down, it should not affect furnace. You just won't be able to control the thermostat remotely.
