• There is no difference between being on your network or remote. During setup, the nest needs to connected to the internet to be activated. Assuming you do not subsequently disable via your firewall, you can do all functions both remote and locally via the app - including both turning off an alarm and testing.

• Yes, you are able to remotely turn on/off audible testing of your nest protection with you mobile app. The count down will freakout your peaks before dogs believe someone else is in the house. The pathway light adds great perfect lighting for late night bathroom breaks.

• The alarm can be turned of remotely unless the nest detects constant danger like the heat of a fire, the test can be active remotely but the audible alarm can not be silenced. that is part of the test.
