We recommend only using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA (L91) lithium-ion batteries as they proved to be lasting multiple years based on our tests. Also, there are ways to extend Nest Protect battery life, here are some steps you can try: - Turn Pathlight brightness to low or disable it entirely. - Turn off Nightly Promise. Protect will still speak if the batteries get very low, and you'll still see the battery status in the app.
