Yes, it can. We recommend using Nest Protect (Battery) instead of the wired version. It will notify you of any smoke of fire alerts as long as it´s connected to a Wi-Fi network with an Internet connection.

As long as you install it correctly it will notify your phones or iPads (or other devices you have the app installed) of any CO or smoke events.
