No. Nest Protect (battery) can't be hardwired. It doesn't have connectors or terminal blocks for connecting to household wiring. Here's a support article for the Nest Protect installation: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9231672

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The battery version of the Nest Protect cannot be connected to existing wiring. Also, note that the holes in the backplate for the battery version do not line up with the holes for a junction box, so if you want to replace a wired detector with the batter Nest, you'll have to drill your own holes, but that doesn't leave much space for the screw heads when you go to mount the device to the backplate. Ask me how I know. :) It's doable, but I don't recommend it. The battery Nest is designed to be mounted directly to the ceiling drywall.
