“Does the Nest Thermostat E require an internet connection?”

I believe it will but just as a basic thermostat! It works off of WiFi ,not wired CAT-5. So not having internet kind of defeats the purpose of having this Thermostat. The ECO setting would not function correctly because it works with the outside air temps ( it gets local weather info from setting your zip code during setup) and you would not be able to control it from your phone or tablet etc.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It seems to. Mine goes offline if my router goes down, and it wouldn't do anything after the install until I had connected it to my network. That being said, connecting it to your home router is pretty easy.

Please try again later.The Nest Thermostat E does not require a WiFi connection in order to control your HVAC system, however if you'd like to be able to control your Nest from anywhere through your phone, this would need to be connected to WiFi and set up on a Nest account.
