I would suspect that it would work as long as your heating unit works with the Nest Thermostat. The sensor only relays the ambient temperature of the room back to the Nest thermostat, so the heating source should make little difference.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this sensor is for checking your temp in another location or setting the furnace to sense that location. it does not do anything much as to control another room unless you have a on off relay if that's what you wanted.

Please try again later.The Nest Thermostat can use the Nest Temperature Sensors ambient temperature as the main temperature to reach allowing more comfort in a room that may not get as hot as the rest of the home compared to the temperature where the Nest Thermostat is located. This can only work if the room you place the temperature sensor in receives heat from the Nest it's connected to.
