Yes I have all three hardwired to a switch in my basement.

Needs to go modem to main router. Main router to switch. Switch to the other nodes.

Yes. but you have to factory reset your old mesh then install as a new mesh & connect the ethernet last. will save you several houra of troubleshooting.
