• I believe this is due to the fact BB has to partner with Verizon due to the Verizon/Google partnership. Verizon buys from Google, BestBuy buys from Verizon, you buy from BestBuy. Everyone needs to make some margin...

• The Pixel XL sold in the Google Store is UNLOCKED. You always pay a premium for a factory unlocked phone, because NO CARRIER IS PROVIDING A SUBSIDY ON SRP. The Verizon locked variants are less expensive to consumers, because Verizon is subsidizing the lower price, in exchange for you becoming a Verizon subscriber.

• I believe that is a placeholder price. Once it's on pre-order the price should be similar to what is on Google's website
