For full coverage I think you could get away with just 2 but to make sure you get the whole house 3 wouldn't be a bad option either. I'm 99% sure you can't get the whole house with just 1.

2 would be best for that much space. You have to take into account the signal has to get through walls and floors.

I would buy two. Shop around for a lower price and Best Buy will match it. That's what I did
