• An app is required to set it up. Once its set up, this system boosts your existing system. There is no need to change any user name or password. That will all stay the same and unaffected by this setup.

• It does require the Google WiFi app to setup. When doing so, a guest Network can be setup easily

• After the initial setup. Yes you just share the password the old fashioned way.

• no app needed. You need to the app to set up the network, but then the network will show up and be accessible for other people just like every other home network.
