How is it possible to put these google devices in different parts of the house when they have to be connected to the modem and the modem is connected to a cable comng out of the wall, therefore it seems I can only connect one or do some come wireless? null

All 3 units 'are capable' of being connected to the modem directly, but you connect only only router to the modem. The rest are just connected to the power supply and will automatically create a "network mesh" to have additional coverage. You place the other units that are not connected directly in different locations to have consistent coverage for you house.

Yes, the other pods connect to the main pod wirelessly. 

So you connect one of them (they are all the same) to the cable modem (plug in power) and just put the other ones around the house and connect power. They recognize each other wirelessly and create a mesh network.

Primary router connects to your modem and broadcasts the signal to your other routers. It's the same signal, which creates a mesh.
